Solo, B-

Rated PG-13, 135 minutes My apologies, I haven’t had time for a full review of the new “Star Wars” outing “Solo,” directed by Ron Howard and starring Alden Ehrenreich (“Hail, Caesar!”) telling the backstory of one of cinema’s most charming characters, Han Solo, up To now forever eyeched in our memories by Harrison Ford. Enjoyable, entertaining and a bit too long, it’s fun, cheesy and likable. Ehrenreich is good as a young Solo though he won’t make you forget Ford, but singer and actor Donald Glover is even better as a young Lando Calrissian. There is some fun to be had here and the special effects are solid, but it all seems a little unnecessary. Do we really need another “Star Wars” movie? The folks at Disney would have you believe so. This is for die-hard “Star Wars” fans who think so too.
